Natural Cleaning Hacks

Top Tip #1

Stubborn soap scum can be tough to remove, especially if it’s been lingering on your fixtures or shower for too long.  There’s an unlikely source that can cut through the soap scum, however: citrus fruit, such as grapefruit.

What you need:

A grapefruit ¼ cup of table salt

How you do it:

Cut your grapefruit in half. This will be more than enough for your tub, sink, taps and other fixtures. Sprinkle the grapefruit with salt, then wet your bathtub and sprinkle more salt around the bottom.

Grab a grapefruit half and start scrubbing. Keep lifting it every few seconds to pick up fresh salt and give it a little squeeze every now and then to drizzle fresh grapefruit juice around the place, especially each fixture.

Rinse the salt and pulp down the drain and revel in the best smelling shower you may ever experience.

You can kick up the cleaning power with a bit of baking soda in the mix as well. After scrubbing, rinse the area well with warm water, and you should have a shiny shower and tub.
